We are what we think. Or is it that, we are what we feel? Our thoughts and emotions are complicated and connected. Sometimes it can feel that we are at mercy of our feelings and overthinking negative tendencies, that we have no control – I used to be the same. My mind was full of negativity and overthinking. However, I have learnt over the years how to take back control using a combination of modern knowledge, for example cognitive-behavioural techniques, and Eastern philosophy for example mindfulness and meditation. This workshop combines my knowledge of science, life experience and practices like yoga and meditation to teach you practices for self-regulation of the mind. This learning will help you on the journey to self-mastery, peak performance and multidimensional wellbeing through mind control.

  • Learn the science behind getting control of your emotions, thoughts and behaviours

  • Learn how emotions, thoughts and behaviours interact

  • Learn emotion and thought regulation techniques

  • Explore how to use techniques to regulate behaviour

  • Learn meditations and yoga practices aimed at focusing your mind and attention

  • Formulate goals and action plan towards self-regulation of the mind

 

Example itinerary

09.30 – 10.15: Welcome, refreshments, introductions and icebreakers

10.15 – 11.15: Workshop session 1 – Emotions, thoughts and behaviours, understanding their interaction and explore what it means to get control of your emotions, thoughts and behaviours.

11.15 – 11.30: Break

11.30 – 12.45: Workshop session 2 – Emotion regulation. Explore emotion regulation and what is looks like in practice, including how managing our emotions gives us more energy and vitality. Learn exercises to use in daily life.

12.45 – 13.30: Lunch*

13.30 – 14.30: Workshop session 2 – Thought regulation. Learn practices, exercises and pitfalls of thinking and explore how to think in a productive and healthy way.

14.30 – 15.00: Workshop session 3 – Behaviour regulation. How to use your emotional and thought regulation towards your behaviour. Explore exercises to regulate your behaviour towards peak performance for example time management.

15.00 – 15.15: Break

15.15 – 16.15: Meditation – focus your mind, attention and cultivate connection to your mind. Yoga – mindfully move in your body and focus on breath and intention.

16.15 – 16.45: Workshop session 4 – Supported self-reflection. Intention setting, formulate your goals and action plan for self-regulation of the mind.

16.45 – 17.00: Review and close
