Wellbeing Specialist
As a Wellbeing Specialist I use the science of positive psychology, coaching psychology, a range of professional competencies and my lived experience from chronic fatigue to flourishing to teach you the skills of self-healing and self-regulation to journey and expand towards Self-Mastery and An Adventurous Way of Being.
I am a positive psychology coach, expedition leader and outdoor adventure instructor/educator, sports massage therapist, yoga teacher and musician. I use a combination of these towards a multidimensional approach to wellbeing (mind, body, environment and interpersonal worlds) and work with individuals, groups and corporate clients in 1:1 sessions, workshops and wilderness/ adventure expeditions.
Wellbeing Explorer
My passion and mission as a Wellbeing Explorer is to explore wild places, visit remote communities and talk with people around the world to share the wellbeing stories you may never otherwise get to hear. I want to build connection through empathy, understanding wellbeing and human flourishing; encouraging people to appreciate that whilst people and cultures are unique and different, we should celebrate our common humanity. I want to be the ‘Lara Croft’ of positive psychology research and wellbeing exploration!
I have engaged in profound and intimate interactions with humans from diverse cultures, with varied and different values. This journey has taken me to interview people in Ireland, UK, USA, Nepal, Mongolia, Peru and India. What I have found is that love is the most important value, and that most people are good, kind and want the best for themselves and their loved ones. I am excited to continue the wellbeing exploration on our epic expedition next year, walking the length of Nepal in the mountains to engage with the remote communities who are the guardians of the mighty Himalaya to understand what wellbeing means to them, and explore their strategies for mental resiliency to climate change related natural disasters. This 1700km expedition will be around 120 days and we will climb 70,000m/ 300,000ft in elevation which is the height of Everest eight times!
